XPulse 200 Expert Review

Here is what our experts feel about XPulse 200

Hero Motocorp has been taking big strides towards expanding its product portfolio in India and is venturing into varied motorcycle segments. Recently, two of their much-anticipated adventure tourers, the XPulse 200 and the XPulse 200T were spied, and they looked production ready. Hero Motocorp had earlier ventured into the adventure tourer segment with the Impulse, but that didn't go too well with the consumers. Looks like they have learned from their past experience and they seem to be prepared this time. XPulse 200 is the off-road version of the two adventure tourers, while the XPulse 200T is a road-favored version. The XPulse 200R sports a raised beak, knuckle guards, a clear flyscreen, metal skid plate, and fork gaiters along with features like an all-digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, LED headlight, and taillight. It comes fitted with large alloy wheels, 21-inch at front and 18-inch at the rear, shod with dual-purpose tubeless tyres and a high-mounted exhaust which further enhances its off-roading character.

Powering the XPulse 200 is a 200cc, air-cooled engine that generates 18.7PS of max power and 17.1Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. It also features disc brakes at both ends along with a single-channel ABS offered as standard. Hero Motocorp has showcased the XPulse 200 in a white paint job with cool graphics, however, it's not very certain if the bike will feature more paint schemes. It is expected to be launched in early 2019 with a price tag of around 1.2 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will line up against the XPulse 200T, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F, and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
