Here is what our experts feel about HF Deluxe
Hero HF Deluxe is a popular commuter motorcycle from the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer’s stable. In fact, the motorcycle has been on the list of top 10 best-selling bikes in India for quite a long time. The Hero HF Deluxe is currently at the number two spot on the list that sells over 1.5 lakh units in India per month. Hero HF Deluxe was earlier retailed as CD Deluxe when Hero MotoCorp didn't part ways with its former partner Honda. After the two ended the joint venture, Hero came up with HF Deluxe making it more desirable than before with new features and a more fuel-efficient engine. Prime highlights of the Hero HF Deluxe include an electric start, alloy wheels, attractive graphics, i3s technology and more. The bike is currently on sale in five variants with prices starting at Rs 39,900 while the top end variant with i3s technology can be yours for a price of Rs 48,800 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). With that being said, the Hero HF Deluxe is currently one of the most affordable bikes that you can buy in India. It competes with the likes of Bajaj CT100 and TVS Sport in the 100cc entry-level commuter bike segment. The highly accepted design along with the inclusion of multiple usable features at a competitive price point is what makes the HF Deluxe a hit in the segment.
Hero HF Deluxe has a quite simple design and despite that, it comes across as a good-looking motorcycle. The angular headlamp up front along with a curvy fuel tank makes the bike look like a modern budget motorcycle. Add to that, the attractive graphics that make the HF Deluxe look stylish and appeal more to the masses. It also gets alloy wheels that act as an important sporty highlight. The overall design is quite proportionate and the Hero HF Deluxe looks a lot better when compared to many of its rivals and for this reason, it is quite popular even among the youngsters especially in rural localities. The bike is on sale in five colour options namely Candy Blazing Red, Black with Red, Black with Purple, Boon Silver Metallic and Classy Maroon Metallic.
Powering the Hero HF Deluxe is the company’s tried and tested 97.2cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The engine is good for developing respective power and torque outputs of 8.2PS and 8.05Nm. The engine is refined due to which the daily rides on the HF Deluxe become easy and hassle-free. This engine offers a decent fuel efficiency as it comes with Hero MotoCorp’s patented i3s technology. Under the mechanism, the engine shuts down automatically when the engine is at idle and the gearbox is in neutral for five seconds. The engine comes back to life again when the rider presses the clutch. Due to this, the fuel efficiency gets improved which is quite important for a commuter of this price point.
Hero HF Deluxe comes fitted with 130mm drum brake up front along with a 110mm drum brake at the rear. The motorcycle is equipped with conventional telescopic forks up front along with twin spring shock absorbers at the rear. The rear shock absorbers are two-step adjustable and hence you can adjust them as per your convenience. All thanks to its total kerb weight of just 110kg, the motorcycle is easy to handle and maneuver in day to day commutes. The bike is bolted on a tubular double cradle chassis that offers it a good stability and keeps the bike composed at higher speeds. Hero HF Deluxe rides on 2.75 x 18 - 4 PR / 42P front and 2.75 x 18 - 6 PR / 48P rear tyres that offer a decent grip and are apt for daily commutes.
Hero HF Deluxe gets drum brakes at both ends that offer a decent stopping power. The motorcycle gets a 12V - 35W headlamp that illuminates the road well in the dark. The bike gets the company’s patented i3s technology that helps in fuel saving and is quite convenient too as you can switch it off as well when you don’t feel the need. In terms of features, the motorcycle gets an easy electric start to offer convenience to the rider. Furthermore, the bike has a clear lens turning winkers that not only look good but also serve the purpose well.
