Fat Bob Expert Review

Here is what our experts feel about Fat Bob

The Fat Bob is one of the most muscular Harley Davidson's lineup, and is a member of the Dyna sub-brand within Harley Davidson. The bike boasts of some brilliant design elements and features with a circular theme throughout the silhoutte. The bike is a typical bruiser by Harley standards and a potential tool for munching long miles.

From the very first glance, the Fat Bob looks purposely built with muscular body panels and equipments of rounded theme, making it one of the most imposing motorcycles available in the country today. The bike has dual circular headlamps in front, with turn indicators mounted on the high-set handlebar, which commands attention from the passers-by. The side profile looks like it is gem-packed with many elements put together, including a rounded bu tapered fuel tank, with the big V-twin engine sitting beneath it, finished in black and the exhausts are chrome-bathed. The rear profile features a twin set of circular LED tail lamps placed side-by-side to each other, encased within the back of the rear tyre fender. The turn indicators are mounted on the side chrome strips attached to the rear fender. The instrument console is mounted on the fuel tank and showcases an analog speedometer with a small LCD displaying odometer and trip meter. The handlebar is set at a considerable height and is almost flat. The fit and finish is impeccable, with everything feeling built to last.
The Fat Bob is powered by a 1690cc air-cooled V-twin, which manages to pump out 132 Nm of torque at 3250 rpm. The engine is a powerhouse and it is felt at the very instant once you twist the throttle on turning the ignition. The maximum of the powerband lies in the lower rev range of the engine, making it much more driveable at low speeds. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which has well-specced gear ratios to make the full usage pf torque available on tap.
The rideability of Fat Bob is unquestionable. The riding posture on the motorcycle is extremely commanding with high-raised handlebar and forward set foot pegs. The suspension setup of the motorcycle comprises of front telescopic forks and rear coil springs, which are set on a stiffer side, but somehow manages to tackle the undulations of the road by a small margin. The bike is huge by every angle, making it a strict machine to put up on duty on open stretches only, as the gargantuan size makes it strenuous to handle in the city. The brakes are discs at both ends and perform their job pretty well.
The Fat Bob, at Rs 12.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), is a considerable purchase for the sheer size and amazing performance it packs in. The bike is instantly recognizable and its bulbous circular proportions make it distinctive amongst the other products of the Harley line-up. The bike also comes with the infinite customization options, which makes this bike even more exclusive than it is.
