Pulsar RS400 Expert Review

Here is what our experts feel about Pulsar RS400

The Pulsar series is the most renowned and one of the most successful bike series of Bajaj Auto. The Pulsar has been offered in various ranges, from 135cc engine displacement to 220cc engine displacement, and the Indian automaker is all set to launch its latest version, the Pulsar RS 400 which will feature an upgraded engine, similar to the Dominar 400. The new Pulsar RS 400 will be pretty similar to the Dominar 400 in terms of design, features, and performance. It will sport dual projector headlamps with DRLs, a large windscreen, curvy side fairings, beefy fuel-tank, LED tail lamp, split seats, and a semi-digital instrument console with gear shift indicator and other important readouts. If reports are to be believed, the Pulsar RS 400 will be powered by a 373.2cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Bajaj’s in-house DTS-i technology,  producing 35PS of max power and 35Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. If we go by the engine’s similarity with the one on the Dominar 400, the Pulsar RS 400 is expected to reach a top speed of 160kmph and return a mileage of around 25kmpl to 30kmpl.

We anticipate that the Pulsar RS 400 will be equipped with disc brakes at both ends along with Dual-channel ABS being offered as standard and the suspension setup might comprise of telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Bajaj is likely to launch the bike in early 2019 with a price tag of around Rs 1.7 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, it will compete against the likes of the KTM 390, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the TVS Apache RTR 310.
