Bajaj Discover 125 Road Test

It was the year 2004, when the then commuter motorcycle lineup of Bajaj went under a drastic evolution with the entry of an all new motorcycle called 'Discover', which gradually and completely replaced the other sub-150cc commuters from Bajaj, the Boxer and Caliber series. In the same year, Bajaj promised to never enter into the scooter venture back again by discontinuing Chetak and designed the next-generation Pulsar series for enthusiasts. With these two crucial moves by Bajaj, the Discover was the one on which Bajaj had to rely on, for extracting large sales volumes and ... [ Read More ]

Bajaj Discover 125 Review
  • Overview

Since the launch, Discover is the one of the most loved brands from Bajaj. It has created a benchmark in the Indian market, therefore, Bajaj has been continuously evolving the motorcycle with cosmetic changes to make it look refreshing in its segment. The Discover range of motorcycles have various variants, all of which are underpinned on the same platform.

The design of the Discover 125 has not been changed a lot over the time. With minor tweaks, Bajaj always rejuvenated the motorcycle. The dual tone decals over the fuel- tank, headlight, side body panel and tail section make it look fresh. The single seat is well cushioned and provides good comfort during long rides or daily commuting. The curved-down headlight of the motorcycle looks stylish while the tail light is raised upward and gels well with overall look of the bike. The tank is sculpted well, too, and tucks the knee in a nice way.

The signature look of  Discover remains intact with the same muscular fuel tank, 5 spoke alloy wheels and aluminum side sets.  The combination of all the design elements make it one of the best designed motorcycles in its segment.

The DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark Swirl Induction) engine has become an identity of the powerful yet fuel efficient motorcycle. Bajaj Discover 125 draws power from a 124.6cc, single cylinder, 2-valves DTS-i engine that has an output of 11 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm while generating a peak torque of  10.8 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

The 200mm disc upfront gets higher cooling surface, hence making the braking system more efficient. The bike is equipped with 30% wider rear tyre against its counterparts, making it more stable. For a smoother ride, Bajaj has installed Nitrox Suspension that uses shock absorbers with a travel of 110 mm in the bike.

It is available in both Electric and Kick start option.
