TVS Motor Company, India’s leading two-wheeler and farm vehicle manufacturer, has introduced a new special edition paint scheme for the Apache RR 310 bike at the Feria de las 2 Ruedas motorcycle show in Medellin, Colombia. The new colour scheme has contrasting white and red decals that run from the bike’s front to rear quarter panels. The TVS Apache RR 310 is already available in matte black paint scheme as standard. That aside, the Apache RR 310 sports an oversized ‘RR’ sticker which intersects the petrol tank and the front fairing. It also adds vigour to the sports bike.
The new upgrades, however, are merely cosmetic and the bike retains the same powertrain and underpinnings. The top-end motorcycle in TVS’ sports bike portfolio is hauled by a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 312.2cc motor which produces 34PS maximum power at 9,000rpm and 27.3Nm peak torque at 7,700rpm. The single-cylinder engine is mated to a 6-speed gear system.
The TVS Apache RR 310 commands an ex-showroom price of COP$ 17,690,00 (INR3.7 lakh) in Colombia. The new paint scheme makes the motorcycle stand out among its peers and is a nice addition to the Apache’s colours available in India. The Chennai-headquartered company, as of now, is offering the red and matte black shades on the Apache RR 310 sold in India. TVS has recently updated the bike’s engine control unit (ECU) and rubber piping along the windscreen edges. The motorcycle has also got a new chain roller and bar-end weights. These updates have led to a better on-road performance of the Apache RR 310.
TVS, according to sources, is also planning to introduce a new street bike based on the Apache RR 310. The new two-wheeler is expected to be launched by the end of 2019. The Apache series has been well received in India and several other countries.
