The 2017 Suzuki Hayabusa has been launched in India in three new colour options with a price tag of Rs 13.88 lakh
The 2017 Suzuki Hayabusa (GSX1300R) has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 13.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it now will be available in three new colour options -- Glass Sparkle Black / Pearl Glacier White (AGT), Pearl Vigor Blue / Glass Sparkle Black (BBD) and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB). The company had started importing CKD units of the bike in the country last March, resulting in a meaningful reduction in its pricing.
Not just in India, the Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the most popular super/hyper bikes around the world as well. The bike was introduced in 1999 and immediately became the world's fastest production motorcycle. Thanks to the massive torque and power of the motorcycle, it is still counted in some of the best drag bikes ever made.
Powered by a huge 1,340cc, liquid-cooled inline-four engine, the 2017 Hayabusa gets 195PS of power and 155Nm of torque, which is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox. The latest generation motor comes packed with features such as EFI with dual throttle valves, titanium valves, forged pistons, PVD-coated rings and iridium spark plugs. Moreover, there are three engine maps with Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system to choose for different riding conditions.
Built on a perimeter frame, the Suzuki Hayabusa comes with inverted telescopic forks at the front and a link-type monoshock at the rear. The three spoke alloys of the bike gets track-spec Bridgestone tyres -- 120/70 section front and 190/50 section rear. The dual front disc brakes get advanced Brembo Monobloc calipers while the rear gets a single disc brake, with ABS assistance as a standard feature.
Price reduction of the Suzuki Hayabusa due to the CKD operation has also resulted in 100 per cent sales growth of the bike and has increased its waiting period as well. So, the company is further looking to increase the assembling capacity for the bike to fulfil the increasing demand and reducing the waiting period on the 2017 model.
