Suzuki Motorcycle India, a subsidiary of the Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has officially unveiled the 2019 edition of the iconic Hayabusa. The legendary superbike, according to Suzuki, enjoys a huge fan following all over the world and had eager enthusiasts in India waiting for a while. Globally, the bike is known for its sportiness and high speed, the company said.
The 2019 Hayabusa has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of ?13.74 lakhs. It is priced at around ?17,000 more than its earlier model. The new bike from the Japanese automobile major will be available in two paint options—Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Oort Gray—along with updated graphics. That aside the bike is fitted with a pair of side reflectors for enhanced nighttime visibility. The rest of the vehicle largely remains the same as its previous version.
Suzuki Motorcycle India managing director, Satoshi Uchida, said at the launch that the Hayabusa has been one of the best-loved sports bikes for nearly two decades. It has got excellent response from India. As part of the company’s continued efforts to offer great products, the new bike is being launched to cater to a burgeoning fan base in the country, he added.
The 2019 edition will be continued to be powered by an inline-four, liquid-cooled 1340cc engine. The bike can produce 202.5PS of power, while the torque peaks out at 155Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission system. The advanced aerodynamics, Suzuki claimed in a statement, will add to the superb wind protection during both tucked-in and normal riding posture.
The 2019 version is probably Suzuki’s last model in the current Hayabusa production line. The bike, according to industry reports, will be discontinued in Europe in 2020 before an all-new model is introduced in early 2020.
