Revolt Motorcycles have opened the bookings for the RV 400 electric bike from today for a token amount of INR1,000 through Amazon or on the company’s official website. The Revolt RV 400, in all likelihood, will be the first electric motorcycle in India. Deliveries of the RV 400 will start immediately after bike’s launch on 25 July. The company has targeted Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmedabad as the first cities where the bike will be available.
The Revolt RV 400 sports a unique design and comprises a number of segment-first features. The RV 400, according to the manufacturer, is India’s first all-electric bike to support artificial intelligence (AI). The AI technology helps the motorcycle to measure real-time battery consumption, charging time, and the distance traveled. The e-bike also supports Bluetooth connectivity where the rider can remotely start the vehicle with their smartphones by using the company’s app. The RV 400 can also be started by using a smart helmet which accepts voice commands through the AI system. Other major features include a fully digital instrument cluster.
The Revolt RV 400 electric bike has been manufactured at the company’s workshop in Manesar. Revolt has been rather tight-lipped about the vehicle’s specifications. The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has pegged the RV 400’s mileage at 156km. The bike’s top speed is around 85kmph. The vehicle is supported by a monoshock absorber at the back and upside down forks on the front. The motorcycle has disc brakes at both ends with the combined braking system (CBS), as mandated by the government, coming as standard.
Revolt has not yet revealed the price of the RV 400. The bike is expected to command an on-road price of INR1 lakh. The price may include the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric (FAME) vehicles subsidy offered by the government.
