The new scooter adds a dose of Italian style to the company's premium Vespa range of scooters
Piaggio has launched another 150cc scooter called the Vespa Elegante Special Edition at Rs 95,077 (ex-showroom Pune). The Elegante is available in two colours namely, Beige Unico and Pearl White. The beige tone is said to have taken inspiration from the light brown, sandy beaches of Italy. The Elegante will be sold via the company's Motoplex stores and Vespa/Aprilia dealerships across India. In addition, buyers can also book a Vespa scooter at major online retailers and get cashback and attractive offers.
The Elegante comes with split-seats wrapped in leather, a tinted windscreen and the 'Elegante' badge to set it apart from other Vespa models. Optional accessories for the scooter include a matching helmet and an all-around chrome guard. The 150cc single-cylinder engine in the Elegante is not a new unit as it also powers the SXL 150 and the VXL 150. It makes 11.6PS of power at 7000rpm and 11.5Nm of torque at 5000rpm.
Other features of the Elegante include 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, a 200mm ventilated disc brake at the front and an analogue-digital instrument console.
Commenting on this launch, Stefano Pelle, CEO and managing director, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (India) said, “Piaggio is delighted to offer to its fans in India, the stylish special edition Vespa Elegante 150 CC. The special edition Vespa Elegante symbolises Piaggio’s ownership of the premium scooter segment that the group has successfully created in the Indian market. With its classy yet modern designs, Vespa Elegante will be a proud possession of the Vespa enthusiast.”
