Hero MotoCorp, within days of introducing the XPulse 200 twins and the Xtreme 200S motorcycles, has announced the launch of the 2019 Pleasure and the all-new Maestro Edge 125 scooters. The two vehicles are all set to be unveiled on May 13.
The company had first showcased the 2019 Maestro Edge 125 two-wheeler at the New Delhi Auto Expo last year. The scooter will be hauled by a 124.6cc motor which powers the Hero Destini 125. Hero, however, has tweaked the engine of the Maestro Edge 125 to lend the vehicle a sportier feel. The motor, as in the current state, produces 8.8PS of maximum power and 10.2Nm of peak torque. The new Maestro Edge 125 is expected to get a fuel-injection system and be BS-VI compliant.
The 2019 Maestro Edge 125 is expected to have the same suspension system seen as in the Destini 125. The latter is mounted on telescopic front forks while a single hydraulic shock absorber is fitted at the back. The new Edge 125, like the current version, will ride on a 12-inch front wheel. Hero is expected to equip the scooter with a front disc brake. Industry observers believe that the company may also offer a drum brake version to keep a low starting price. The combined braking system (CBS), as mandated by the government, will be a standard feature. That aside, the Maestro Edge 125 will get LED lights on both ends and an analog-digital instrument console. The scooter will also have the i3S start-stop technology developed by Hero.
The Hero Pleasure, on its part, was seen for the first time during the shooting of an advertisement. The two-wheeler is expected to be hauled by an air-cooled, single-cylinder 110.9cc motor, retained from the Maestro Edge standard and the Hero Duet. The Pleasure too is likely to get the i3S start-stop technology.
