Hyundai Elantra is now set to come in its new form Avante. Expected to
hit Indian roads in mid-2008, the car was displayed at the 9th Auto
Expo in New Delhi early this year. The car has all nice details and
has a very contemporary looks both in exteriors as well as interiors.
It has got roomy cabin, sleek dashboard architecture and all the
controls and instruments feature soothing blue backlighting. It also
has got twin front airbags and digital climate control. It is a
refined machine and has very little wind and road noise intrusion with
great body control.
Avante looks good head on but the grille design disappoints and so does the bumper which could have been more chiseled. The car looks its best from the rear with the corolla type tail lamps and a chunky bumper. The side has a wave crease running along which is in sync with the way the C pillar flows into the boot section.
Avante would be launched with a 2 litre DOHC petrol engine and a 1.6 litre CRDi diesel engine and priced between Rs. 9-11 lakh. This pricing would pit Avante against successful sedans like Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Optra.
all hyundai cars in india are overprised grossly... the verna is a replacement of accent all over the world(and sells as accent) and priced roughly 4.5-5 lacs... and the the avante(elantra worldover) is priced at 6lacs...Hyundai is taking indians for a ride by selling verna as a premium car and has created a false segmentation in market... Hyundai is lucky in india; as the worldover it is considered an inferioir brand with low reliability and have very low safety ratings....
HELLO....YAR GADDI EKHO KINNI SOHNI HAI.....PRICE V TA THEEK AA,.....EHNA KU TA KOI JADA NAI...CHEEZ V BAMB HAI...."CRDI" AVRGE V TA WADIYA DAWE GI,...
BAKKI APNI APNI PASAND HAI...
GUD LUCK...TAKE CARE...
price is tooo much.......if they went like this they will sure go off market sooner or later.....
they should compete with Maruti Suzuki SX4 , honda city , skoda etc....
verna coudnt compete with them....
price should be 7-8lacs..
iknow it have all airbas ,ABS etc etc but...:)
if Avante is priced lower than the civic, altis, octavia say about 75000-1 lac then it will surely make a mark bcoz at the same price no sane person wud prefer hyundai over honda or toyota bcoz honda toyota are too good, but pricing wud play a key role.
Yeh Mr. Jamugha sab ko ullu bana raha hai. Isne 9 July ko theek 12.39 baje teen mail bheje voh aise show kiya ke wo different person hai aur usne different response dekh kar likha hai. Baki sabhi dekho ke kaise kaise log duniya mein bhare pade hain.
hyundai wale sochte hain ki jo car wo nikalenge woh chal jaegi ,, ya bik jaegi par iss bar yeh paagalon waale kam kar rahehain ................steering aur dashboard ke upar SRS Airbag toh likh detein hain par lagate nahin
Can prove to be an excellent car in this price range & can beat Skoda, Civic, Altis etc. etc. if it comes also in Diesel, Automatic Transmission, Electronic controls on Steering wheels, good ground clearance (min. 172 mm), Air bags, ABS, Engine immobiliser/ tracer device & front & rear parking sensors. I shall be the first to buy it.

Pricing of such cars should be below 6 lacs to be prolific in the market.
