Fiat Palio CNG

Untitled Document

Fiat is working on launching a CNG version of Palio in the Indian market soon. It is a much needed version that the company should have launched long back. CNG is cheaper than petrol in India and it is expected to boost the sales of Palio in the market. Fiat currently sells the Palio car in petrol and diesel versions. After the launch of Linea and Grande Punto, the launch of CNG version of Palio will help Fiat strengthen its position in the big market of small cars.

Significantly, the CNG plans from Fiat comes at a time when the automotive industry in India is looking at shifting to environment-friendly fuels that would cut costs as well as CO2 emissions. The CNG version of Palio will join the likes of Tata Indica, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Wagon R, Ford Ikon and Marina, which are models that now run on CNG and LPG.

In 2006, Fiat's Brazilian arm launched Siena Tetra Fuel, which operates on CNG, ethanol, gasoline and ethanol-blended gasoline. Fiat produced 50,000 natural gas-fuelled vehicles in Italy last calendar year. In India, Fiat will kick start its green models with the launch of Palio in 2009.

i went to the tata showroom with my dad to have a look at vista, a year ago and there was this mean machine a.k.a "black fiat palio stile" right in the beginning of the showroom. i sat in the car and was simply blown aeay by it. we eventually bought wagon r duo but my hart was still on palio stile. now that i have to buy a car i can't think of another one. but after having done a bit of market survey wat i hav found is that the tata people do not give a damn to the after sales service. if that is the truth then there is no point in going in for palio...there's figo in the market as well. i dont know what decision i'll make in the coming 2 weeks but still my heart is wid palio stile..wish fiat was still in the indian market. otherwise as far as the cars reviews go, every single individual is happy that he made the right choice by going ij for palio...but then again, i dont wanna beg in front of tata 2 getmy dream car serviced. major dilemma

i agree with the comments of vineet.tata has ruined the fiat products.the service after sales of fiat vehicles is gone to the dogs. it was better when they had their own dealer network.tata is using this tie up to achive its goal of fitting fiats engine in its third grade car like indica vista and manza whose quality in the matter of fit and finish abnoxious. through out the north india no palio spare parts are available. hence i am planning to shift my palio to my nagpur garage, and planning to buy a lancer diesel because there is still no news of kizashi in the indian market.

Did you see a company who itself handover its technology, product and SALES to a third class TATA with third class products and in return they are getting NOTHING but a bad marketing and brand demotion by Sales executive of TATA. Then see FIAT. Market has been captured by tata/swift, whose credit only goes to FIat's technology and FIAT is still sleeping and happy to capture much lesser market share than they can.. If I would have given an opportunity as a Product manager in Fiat.. I would have raise and promote Fiat products to a new heights in India.

fiat is the best quality car available in india but they are no so agresive when it comes to new launch. If they launch this palio and new UNO sports in india it will take the market by surprise.

Fiat has to have a definite plans to penetrate the market with alternate fuels like CNG / LPG etc. They are the best in the class, unfortunately in India no one understands the technology edge that FIAT has in automobiles. Good News , Best luck to FIAT TEAM.

Should Fiat Palio Stile owners wait for company fitted CNG kit or it does not make any difference whether it's getting done by company or others.

When will be the new version of Fiat palio will be launch, Secondly why not the automobile company come up with more advanced technology of trasplanting CNG in such a way where spare wheel is placed so that the luggage space is not squalled by the CNG fitment rather there is loading space as well.
