Nissan plans to launch their next generation small car Nissan March in India soon. The car would mark Nissan�s entry into the automatic passenger car market. According to Shouhei Kimura, Nissan Motor India managing director, the car will be launched in the �A� segment category in India and will have 80% of localization.
Nissan March will be manufactured at Nissan�s plant in Oragadam. The car is one of the nine cars that Nissan plans to launch in the Indian market - the company already sells Nissan X-Trail SUV� in India. Renault Nissan will invest $833 million in the plant, that would have a capacity to manufacture 4,00,000 cars every year for local and overseas markets.
As of now, there is no information on the number of cars to be produced for India, or on the price of the Nissan March when it is launched here. March would be competing against Hyundai Santo, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai i10 in India.

Could feel her yesterday at Chennai Trade Centre.
Exterior is wonderful and interiorlooks modern. Vehicle cute in appearence. It may not look masculine but your girld friend/wife will be pleased with your aesthetic sense.
Entry and exit are comfortable and hazzle free. There is enough leg room both at front and rear. However the width of rear seat is not adequate for tall persons and it the design is not supportive to your thighs. Boot is also not large enough for a family of four, which you have to live with.
Gear Shift was satisfactory, however the precision of gear and response of steering can be judged only on the road.
The better news is the Base model will be available for 4.3 Lacs and the high end with 5.4 approx). Interestingly base model comes with Air bag for Driver seat and Body colour bumper. This should change the market equations as far as default features in mid size cars are concerned.
Company offers milage of 18 Km/l at standard test conditions. Even a Milage of 15 Km/l is welcome for this size of a car.
As of now there is only one dealer for Chennai but if the vehicle proves to be successfull, we can expect mode dealers and service centers. A better marketing strategy would have been to have higher number of service failities at least in Metros. Also watch out for spare part prices.
Nissan does not offer alloy wheels in any model of this car.
I failed to check the adjustability of steering and the functionality of switches as there was a long que waiting to have a look inside. Going by the public response, there is much followers for this vehicle and the one month waiting period may increase once it is launched.
Evrything looks bright on papers for this beauty. Now it is your turn to get surprised.

Indian people look for a lot of things before buying a new car, like the available saervice points of the company. Since Nissan has not much service stations in India or if present, they will be at large distance from small cities so this may affect the sale of the car. Company should collaborate with some other service stations available at large number of cities to provide good service to customers.
