Maruti Kizashi
Maruti is now planning to enter the D segment of cars with its new
offering Kizashi. Expected to be launched in the early 2010, the car
is expected to compete with the likes of Honda Civic, Toyota Corrola,
Skoda Octavia and the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta. The Kizashi concept
car was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 and at the Auto
Expo in New Delhi in 2008. Expected to be priced around Rs. 10 lakh,
it will have many innovative features, and is likely to be powered by
a 2 litre turbo diesel engine. Kizashi is also likely to have a six
speed transmission and large 21 inch alloys. The car is likely to be
produced at the company's Manesar facility in Haryana.
Maruti Kizashi is expected to be the first all-wheel drive sedan in the luxury D segment. The car will carry an advanced four-valve turbo-fired two-litre petrol, Euro V engine, which will also be premiered at the same time. Kizashi is also likely to boast the first six-speed transmission from the Suzuki stable. A crossover sports sedan, Kizashi, which depicts an athlete in motion, is likely to sport 21” wheels. Maruti Kizashi is expected to roll out from its Manesar plant. Kizashi will be positioned in the Rs 10 lakh-plus price band and will compete with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta besides other cars that will debut in the next three years.

yes the car seems good but due to its low body and chassis it will make so much of difference while driving in India where the roads are dug up at any part and lots of speed breaks .but model is rocking.

Looks great, the torque etc good, but the body is way too low for our Indian Roads.. A very good ground cleareance is very much required. Even the WagonR when fully loaded gets stuck on even small road humps...So the designing guys should address this point seriously.

i always wanted to buy a grand vitara but its out of my budget.now i can think of buying this car because it is powered by the vitara engine,all wheel drive and comming from the stable of suzuki.my first car was s maruti-800 deluxe bought in 1997.i used it like an off-roader throught the mighty himalayas.my next car was a esteem-vxi bought in 2006 which i lost in a car rally only after doing 12000kms.the car rolled five times but me and my wife came out unscratched.wanted to buy another esteem but it was discontinued.than i bought palio stile diesel.good car but spares are not available.i hope my search will be over if this machine in launched in the mentioned price range.but do it soon.

With 21 inches alloys its nearly touches the ground. Also 6 speed transmission is nor checked by time. The car is like gorwn smiling baby, who cannot turn its perfect built highway. Even US and Europe roads are not so perfect. Wrong stake of SUZUKI. You'll hear there sound afterwords :)

This is just a CONCEPT CAR. It will not look the same when it will roll-out of production plant. I have seen a prototype of this car, and I must say, although it doesn't look exactly the same as in the picture, it sure is ready to take on Indian roads with some mods to the body kit.

The Car looks nice, but what about its ground clearance levels. will it suit the Indian road conditions with natural and man made speed brakers. I think if it doesn't have minimum 145mm - 155mm of ground clearance, will pose big problems.

Dont fall for the look - That's the concept edition for the Motor show. - For Indian roads, Maruti will always re-design to suit the roads and clearance as well the looks. (Nano looks totally stunning in the European Roads). This possible be a luxy edition of the SX4.

The car will definitely pose ground clearance issue. It won't suite the Indian road speed breakers. Who ever buys it just can't run it only on Highways... but the outlook is really cool.

The Kizashi thats gonna come to indian roads would really not be the one that is shown above , insted the indian version of kizashi would be just an upgraded version of suzuki SX4 , with a wider grill span , an with a lower ground clearane than the SX4.
when it comes to the pricing , it would normally be around 10-12 lakhs ex showroom .
But Im sure that the Kizashi would have a bundle of suprises, both in the interiors as well as in the performance

i saw this car in this auto expo (2010). this pic shown above is a concept car. but which i saw in this auto expo was real one. & it was really awesome. gr8 looks. the grill which has been given in the front is simply amazing & gives a luxury car look. from the back it looks like a BMW or gives a royal look...........this car is simply amazing. i am also hoping it should be around 10L.

This seems to be the only car of its kind to roll on the Indian roads. The looks are such that it will make anyone fall for it but watching the picture I felt that the ground clearance of this car can become a matter of worry for the company if this is exactly what the company has designed for the Indian Roads.

To all of you, this is a concept car, 80% of this will not make it to production. It won’t be as low and it’ll barely have 17 inch wheels not 21. Remember its competing with corolla and civics not Audi’s or other high end cars. So what ever you see in this picture you won’t see in the real car.

Hi, this is car is a very good choice for the sporty look lovers but the main focus should be on the ground clearence other wise the card is awesome.
The ground clearence is an issue not only in Indian Roads but also in other countries as well.
As it can be seen in the above pic,it is a prototype but this creates a lot of questions in the mind for the ground clearence which may decrease an interest for the Indian buyers.
Also, from the pic it seems to be very heavy car so the mileage is again a question mark.
But if you will decrease the height of this card then probaly the looks may get hamper since it is the heght which is playing a vital role in the looks for the front view.

i mostly prefer maruti , toyota , & honda cars, looking at this car is amazeing.......i will wait for this car to launch ,coz still not satisfied with its bumper height i think its tooo low for indian roads .....so i think to take its test drive ,if i will satisfy then nthing to see in maruti cars ..... i prefer maruti for its low maintaince , and service stations.

ground clearence is ok.we know suzuki produce # 1 cars for india.i guess this model shown must be without front and rear shock absorber thats why its look like with zero ground clearence.once there are shock absorber it will be fine man!!!

Car looks good but for Indian roads, the ground clearance looks pathetic... doesn't look suitable to be launched in India. Cars with good ground clearance in the segment of 160mm plus is good for Northern region... example cars like Aveo which has clearance of 180mm plus does really well in hilly areas. Kizashi could be a turndown for northern region unless it has been taken care of such small factors.

The major issue will arise as per the ground cleareance. This car will not go on Indian roads, any huge bumper will lead to collapse its front bumper. As seeing from other aspects its design is not doubt ausum..price tag is competetive with big vehicles like innova. As per the price its a hit but i request maruti eng. to please work on its ground clearence. If you did that this car on indian road will be a big hit

I think most of the people who post on this forum are villagers! The car in the photo is a concept car. The actual production model is Kizashi 3 which more or less looks like a clone of SX4. And no way Indian roads are suitable for 21inch wheels. The ride is gonna be very bumpy and uncomfortable. I think kizashi in India is gonna be fitted with SX4 engine or Vitara engine. Vitara would give it more punch definitely.

Wow... At first Site, I though It was "Bugatti Veyron". Nice looking one, but I have lot of concerns with its On road performance in India. Specially on the car lowering to the road, Thinner tubeless tyres(could hit hard on the rim if bumped over a hard stone), Puzzeled with the head lamps streching till the bottom on the front grill.
Never-the-less, I would wait to see the commercial version of this Buddy-Bad-Boy.

Indian road condition is not better for this car.
Car bumper is too low. Now in this condition, this car is better for racing track. Not better for INDIAN country & village road. Need some change in bumper show & ground clearance.

Technology says that aerodynamic body of cars is more fuel-efficient but this car is completely against this rule. The front bumper looks like last century cars model. Low ground clearance will not be acceptable on Indian roads. Lot of changes are required, a long way to go…

Maruti Kizashi is expected to be the first all-wheel drive sedan in the luxury D segment. The car will carry an advanced four-valve turbo-fired two-litre petrol, Euro V engine, which will also be premiered at the same time. Kizashi is also likely to boast the first six-speed transmission from the Suzuki stable. A crossover sports sedan, Kizashi, which depicts an athlete in motion, is likely to sport 21” wheels. Maruti Kizashi is expected to roll out from its Manesar plant. Kizashi will be positioned in the Rs 10 lakh-plus price band and will compete with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta besides other cars that will debut in the next three years.

yes the car seems good but due to its low body and chassis it will make so much of difference while driving in India where the roads are dug up at any part and lots of speed breaks .but model is rocking.
Looks great, the torque etc good, but the body is way too low for our Indian Roads.. A very good ground cleareance is very much required. Even the WagonR when fully loaded gets stuck on even small road humps...So the designing guys should address this point seriously. Rajesh Abu Dhabi

i always wanted to buy a grand vitara but its out of my budget.now i can think of buying this car because it is powered by the vitara engine,all wheel drive and comming from the stable of suzuki.my first car was s maruti-800 deluxe bought in 1997.i used it like an off-roader throught the mighty himalayas.my next car was a esteem-vxi bought in 2006 which i lost in a car rally only after doing 12000kms.the car rolled five times but me and my wife came out unscratched.wanted to buy another esteem but it was discontinued.than i bought palio stile diesel.good car but spares are not available.i hope my search will be over if this machine in launched in the mentioned price range.but do it soon.

With 21 inches alloys its nearly touches the ground. Also 6 speed transmission is nor checked by time. The car is like gorwn smiling baby, who cannot turn its perfect built highway. Even US and Europe roads are not so perfect. Wrong stake of SUZUKI. You'll hear there sound afterwords :)

This is just a CONCEPT CAR. It will not look the same when it will roll-out of production plant. I have seen a prototype of this car, and I must say, although it doesn't look exactly the same as in the picture, it sure is ready to take on Indian roads with some mods to the body kit.

The Car looks nice, but what about its ground clearance levels. will it suit the Indian road conditions with natural and man made speed brakers. I think if it doesn't have minimum 145mm - 155mm of ground clearance, will pose big problems.

The Kizashi thats gonna come to indian roads would really not be the one that is shown above , insted the indian version of kizashi would be just an upgraded version of suzuki SX4 , with a wider grill span , an with a lower ground clearane than the SX4. when it comes to the pricing , it would normally be around 10-12 lakhs ex showroom . But Im sure that the Kizashi would have a bundle of suprises, both in the interiors as well as in the performance

hello all, this realy a very good luxury car, but it seems has very less ground clearence.
i saw this car in this auto expo (2010). this pic shown above is a concept car. but which i saw in this auto expo was real one. & it was really awesome. gr8 looks. the grill which has been given in the front is simply amazing & gives a luxury car look. from the back it looks like a BMW or gives a royal look...........this car is simply amazing. i am also hoping it should be around 10L.
This is just a concept car to create hype. The real one you take home will no way be near to the likes of the prototype shown above.

Hi, this is car is a very good choice for the sporty look lovers but the main focus should be on the ground clearence other wise the card is awesome. The ground clearence is an issue not only in Indian Roads but also in other countries as well. As it can be seen in the above pic,it is a prototype but this creates a lot of questions in the mind for the ground clearence which may decrease an interest for the Indian buyers. Also, from the pic it seems to be very heavy car so the mileage is again a question mark. But if you will decrease the height of this card then probaly the looks may get hamper since it is the heght which is playing a vital role in the looks for the front view.

i mostly prefer maruti , toyota , & honda cars, looking at this car is amazeing.......i will wait for this car to launch ,coz still not satisfied with its bumper height i think its tooo low for indian roads .....so i think to take its test drive ,if i will satisfy then nthing to see in maruti cars ..... i prefer maruti for its low maintaince , and service stations.

ground clearence is ok.we know suzuki produce # 1 cars for india.i guess this model shown must be without front and rear shock absorber thats why its look like with zero ground clearence.once there are shock absorber it will be fine man!!!

Car looks good but for Indian roads, the ground clearance looks pathetic... doesn't look suitable to be launched in India. Cars with good ground clearance in the segment of 160mm plus is good for Northern region... example cars like Aveo which has clearance of 180mm plus does really well in hilly areas. Kizashi could be a turndown for northern region unless it has been taken care of such small factors.
Hey Dont look at this look and admire - Here it will look simillar to SX4 so dont be panic by road clearance and all.
Im surprise to see this car at this price. It is really afforandable and looks very luxory. It will compete other cars definitely. Though it has amazing looks, the lower body is going to kiss bad indian roads. But anyways.....eagerly waiting for this car to be launched

Boyzzzzzzzzz...................Come on what are you dreamin off...Its just an Concept and moreover Maruti is nothin without the Support of SuZuki....................So you see.........the Guys from Suzuki are well aware about the Indian Version of the Concept if it ever gets on production. Hope Maruti too has its own Technical team to Manufacture somethin of their own which is completely Indian.

The car was looking fantastic but only problem is ground clearance. If that mitigates I believe this will be the best casr in that segment.
The major issue will arise as per the ground cleareance. This car will not go on Indian roads, any huge bumper will lead to collapse its front bumper. As seeing from other aspects its design is not doubt ausum..price tag is competetive with big vehicles like innova. As per the price its a hit but i request maruti eng. to please work on its ground clearence. If you did that this car on indian road will be a big hit
I think most of the people who post on this forum are villagers! The car in the photo is a concept car. The actual production model is Kizashi 3 which more or less looks like a clone of SX4. And no way Indian roads are suitable for 21inch wheels. The ride is gonna be very bumpy and uncomfortable. I think kizashi in India is gonna be fitted with SX4 engine or Vitara engine. Vitara would give it more punch definitely.
for sure, a good looking extravagant car & a value for the price..however , the ground clearance at front it not going to work at all..Hej maruti engineers , haven't you thought of bumpy broken road of delhi especially..god bless your innovation.

Wow... At first Site, I though It was "Bugatti Veyron". Nice looking one, but I have lot of concerns with its On road performance in India. Specially on the car lowering to the road, Thinner tubeless tyres(could hit hard on the rim if bumped over a hard stone), Puzzeled with the head lamps streching till the bottom on the front grill. Never-the-less, I would wait to see the commercial version of this Buddy-Bad-Boy.

Indian road condition is not better for this car. Car bumper is too low. Now in this condition, this car is better for racing track. Not better for INDIAN country & village road. Need some change in bumper show & ground clearance.

I drove an esteem and then I drove Aveo and Accent there is miles to go people you can feel lack of quality in Maruti products. be it the gearshift or the quality of plastics--both inside the cabin and inside the bonnet PULL UP YOUR SOCKS ---MARUTI SUZUKI I have a wagon-R , A Honda City, Chevrolet Aveo, and a Hyundai Accent... By far I have found CHEVROLET CARS to be the BEST in all Aspects---Indians really dont have a Taste for Cars

Technology says that aerodynamic body of cars is more fuel-efficient but this car is completely against this rule. The front bumper looks like last century cars model. Low ground clearance will not be acceptable on Indian roads. Lot of changes are required, a long way to go…

is it really a car i think that maruti suzuki is being confused in designing the model because after swift and sx4 all the models it has designed has been sold because of its name, good features and low price but the looks are not so good i like maruti vechicles and wants to buy one more next year i think maruti should consider indian roads also while introducing this new model.
