The German car maker recently gave an engine upgrade to Jetta in order to comply with the Bharat stage IV norms. However this car will soon get a complete makeover and is due to be launched in August 2011. Based on the Golf platform, its family genes are very evident as all new Volkswagen cars bear a family face. The design team has worked hard to give the Jetta a distinct yet familiar look and looking at the pictures it can be said that they have been successful.

The car is new inside out and is broader and longer than the model it replaces. This should enable it with nimble handling characteristics and it is speculated that the car will offer class leading interior space owing to its larger footprint. This car when launched will compete with Volkswagen's very own Skoda Laura and the Renault Fluence. Expect Volkswagen to use an existing 2.0-litre diesel engine that will come mated to both a 6-speed manual as well as an automatic gearbox. Prices are expected to remain same with high levels of quality and a lost list of standard features like cruise control, touch screen audio system, side air-bags etc.
