Scania Commercial Vehicles India has announced that it will participate in the EXCON India 2013 which is to be held in Bangalore from 20th - 24th of November. Taking the centre stage at the Swedish CV maker's stall will be the updated version of the Scania P410 mining truck which will be showcased in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro.
Conducted by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the EXCON India is the largest construction equipment expo in South Asia. In addition to the showcase of the P410, Scania will also be a part of the five member Swedish Pavilion, the others being Atlas Copco, SKF, SSAB and Nordlock. The focus of the pavilion will be on 'Innovation and sustainable businesses'.
The stall will be manned by Mr. Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director, Scania Commercial Vehicle India and Senior Vice President, Scania Group along with the company's management team who will interact with the guests and customers.
Speaking about the company's participation in the event, Mr. Anders Grundströmer said, "The Indian market has accepted the Scania brand extremely well; our presence at EXCON underlines our commitment to providing not just a wide range of mining and construction segment tipper and special application solutions but also a comprehensive service package that will support customers in India throughout."
Scania has been present in India since 2007 through a partnership with L&T for mining trucks. The firm stepped up its presence in the sub-continent by establishing Scania Commercial Vehicles India Pvt. Ltd and by launching more products in heavy haulage, mining and intercity bus segments.
It's to be noted that the CV major further strengthened its Indian operations by inaugurating its 250 Crore assembly plant near Bangalore which caters to both trucks and buses. The plant will have completely localized bus body building once the bus production commences in the first quarter of 2014.
