Honda has revealed its Crider sedan which is the production version of the Concept C which was in-turn revealed a year earlier. There have been speculations and various reports regarding this new sedan from Honda and this production version of the concept C looks more muscular and has more presence than anything Honda has made.
The name Crider stands for ‘Criteria’ and ‘Dreams’. It is built for the Chinese market and as we have said earlier since China is the largest growing market for automobiles making cars directly suited for this market makes sense and the Crider will slot below the Accord and above the Civic, occupying a small space between the two sedans.
The big talking point is of course the styling and it looks great with carrying a lot of the concept's details. Design details like the aggressive nose with thick chrome looks good. What also looks good is the futuristic headlights which are LED's. Look at the side and you will see so many lines near the rear door handles and another one below. It does well to hide the bulk and size. Move to the rear and again it is muscular with a thick chrome line and sculpted lines everywhere. It is clear this is a sedan that will stand out in the crowd.
Honda has not revealed the interiors and kept it as a secret though we expect them to be well made and stuffed with equipments. Space will also be good with special attention given to the rear seats. The Crider is 4.65 meters long, 1.75 m wide and 1.5 m high plus a generous wheelbase of 2.60 m. It is based on Civic sedan and will have a 1.8 engine with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. There might be a 2.0 option also. The Crider is likely based on the same platform as the Civic sedan. Now something like this would also set the market on fire in India also..
