Audi to launch R8 e-tron with artificial sound

A Silent sports car! Well, Sports cars are known for their performance and the way they scream when accelerator is depressed. The Audi e-tron family was introduced to world in 2009 and the only thing missing from the electric and hybrid cars is the exhaust note. One of the most appreciated cars from the e-tron family is the Audi R8 e-tron which was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Powered by four individual electric motors, produces a total of 313 bhp and earth moving 4500 Nm of torque which enables the car to reach 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

R8 e-tron is made closely to the R8 FSI with weight distribution of 42:58 and the batteries are situated directly behind the passenger compartment. The missing exhaust note from the e-tron is being worked on quite extensively and the supercar will be launched with artificial sound, so that enthusiasts don’t feel a thing missing from the German machine. The exhaust-note like sound is created for the almost silent vehicle so that the driver doesn’t experience too different from the R8 powered by combustion engine.
