Honda has launched it’s new CTX 1300 and CTX 1300 Deluxe motorcycles at the Milan Bike Show. This new model is aimed at the luxury touring market and brings a powerful V4 engine. This new motorcycle is a cross between a sport touring motorcycle and cruiser and offers the best of both worlds; high performance and great comfort. This motorcycle is designed combining the comfort and technology to create great riding experience for motorcyclists looking for excellent real-performance with cruiser ergonomics and functionality.
The new CTX 1300 is powered by a fuel-injected and liquid cooled 1,261 cc V4 engine. It get its engine from the ST1300 Sport Tourer and makes around 117 Bhp of power and 117 Nm of torque. It has a 5 speed manual transmission gear box and shaft drive to drive the rear wheel. It redlines around 7000 rpm and is designed to be extremely ride-able around town with very good fuel economy. Honda has decided to exclude the Dual-Clutch transmission from this model and hence it won’t be available in the CVT form. This also helps keep its price lower and helps bring in more customers to purchase the new CTX.
It has a very rider friendly, cruiser ergonomics. The seat has a height of 29.1 inches makes it easy to mount and place your feet firmly on the ground. At 328 kgs it is indeed a heavy motorcycle, therefore aimed at the experienced riders. The rear wheel is a massive 200-sized tyre while the suspension allows you to tweak its pre-load adjustment for the inverted front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear respectively.
One of the main highlights of this model is the purposeful instrument display and storage area. It has two big analogue gauges that shows you the speed and engine revs. While the LCD screen shows trip information include fuel level. On the Deluxe model it has a Bluetooth-enabled audio system powering two speakers placed on either side of the instrumentation. It also brings two storage compartments along with USB connectivity for charging all your electronic devices. Other features available on the slightly more expensive Deluxe model are self-cancelling turn signals, traction control and ABS added to its powerful hydraulic disc brakes. The Deluxe version also gets an all black treatment for its frame and wheels.

We hope to see this motorcycle see the light of day in India. Although it is highly unlikely we can expect this to come along with the Goldwing from HMSI i.e., if HMSI decides to get its international line-up to India. It’s a possibility with other international manufacturers bringing their best motorcycles to India. We could see the CTX on roads in the near future.
