Shimano, a Japanese multinational cycling component, fishing tackle and rowing equipment manufacturer, have launched a new range of performance cycling shoes – the RP9, RP5, RP3 and RP2.
These new road performance shoes, as the company calls it, are basically cycling shoes that are available for both men and women. Keeping in mind the sporty riders, the shoes offer a good balance of speed, rigidity and all-day comfort to the cyclists.
The performance shoes are made of Shimano’s Dynalast shape with durable synthetic leather. According to the manufacturer, the RP9 have been designed on the lines of the R321 shoes that are made of one-piece upper material. The sole of the shoes, on the other hand, can fit 11/12 size on Shimano’s stiffness scale.
The new range of road performance Shimano shoes also feature anti-bacterial insole with small vents on the front and sole that keeps infection and other foul smells away. The size 40 weighs just around 538 grams per pair. The new range of shoes will be available in Euro 36 to 50 sizes, including half sizes between 37-47 and wide sizes between 36-48.
The RP5, as compared to the RP9, is made of glass fiber sole with reinforced nylon platform. The RP3 and RP2 shoes, on the other hand, provide all the benefits of a top performance shoes at a very reasonable price.
For women, the company will offer the WR84 shoes, which took its inspiration from the R321 and RP9. However, it will have different sizes as compared to men. The WR84 women shoes offer the same comfort and performance as that of the RP range. The shoes are contoured with a narrower heel cup for added support while having a narrow overall profile and a volume toe box.
The company has not yet confirmed the prices of road performance shoes. It is expected to be on sale from October 2015.
