Rather than being a restricted option, bicycles have transformed more into preferences or one of the favorite hobbies for many people. Indian bicycle industry is the largest industry in the world. Nearly 40% of demand of the International cycle market is taken care of by the Indian cycle manufacturing companies.
The figures of adventure lover and passionate riders are multiplying every minute and more and more people are getting indulged with the cycling culture throughout the world. Most of the people synced with the bicycle industry or those who remain up to date with the bicycle happenings in the country, must be familiar with HASTPA. HASTPA is related with Hero MTB Himalaya events.
With such a great influence, India cycling culture has gained a lot of solidarity. In general, HASTPA is an association started by people from varied disciplines and background in October 2004. The organization is basically famous amongst the riders but apart from marshalling cycle events in the valley, HASTPA has also successfully structured world class events such as Winter Sports in Manali , The World Cup Paragliding at Billing, India Cup Rafting Challenge on the Sutlej, and many more.
The unique culture and topography of Himachal Pradesh attracts a wide number of tourists. HASTPA has now been working on the long term tourists plans. The association is working to allure more number of tourists and has been doing operations into the interiors of the state. Till now, only famous spots have been listed for receiving high numbers of tourists but with the effort of HASTPA, more roads have opened for interior places of the state.
Himachal Pradesh has a vast number of natural trails which attract bikers and hikers across the world, allowing them to explore the unexplored horizons. The association also asks all the local communities and people to do all the necessary steps to promote adventure sports in the state, so that more benefits could be passed to the locals.
Himachal Pradesh has emerged as a seamless hub for the hikers, rafters, kayakers, paragliders and bikers. Within coming five years, HASTPA has plans to interconnect all those existing natural trails and to be build trails with each other to make Himachal more suitable for adventure aficionados. In its commitment of staging more benefits to local communities, the association has come a long way.
HASTPA projects biking as its promotional sports. HASTPA has been mentoring bicycling enthusiasts in taking part in the Hero MTB Himalaya event. The association is also the partner of the event and promotes tourism in Himanchal. No doubt, Himachal Pradesh has a lot to offer and is capable to slake the quest of adventure junkies. In the past few years, the association has presented several events in the valley, a major activity among which was cycling. Infact most of the events were based on cycles only.
The registration of the 11th Hero MTB Himalaya 2015 started in January 2015. With each successful edition, the race has been turned up into one of the most prominent international races to be held worldwide. Riders across the world pedal through the ups and downs of the trail against their counterparts and time. This year, 2015 Hero MTB Himalaya event has become even tougher and demanding, where riders will have to face steep ascent, muddy roads, severe weather conditions and many more.
The event has created a benchmark after witnessing the participation of some of the big time cyclists such as Cory Wallace, Sonia Lopes, Reimund Dietzen and Luis Leao Pinto. Options like bikes for rentals for both national and international riders have been offered at INR 5,000. The route map of the 11th edition has not been revealed yet but is expected to be introduced soon. The race will kick start from Shimla on 26th September and the closing ceremony will take place at Shimla again on 4th October. The ride is titled as the world’s 3rd toughest MTB ride as it seeks patience, strength and endurance of the rider. The event will be all about survival of the fittest since it will include the elevation to roof of the world, maximum height where cyclists will be pedaling head to head will be 13,000 Ft.
