Editorial Test Drive Review of Toyota Etios 2010-2013 G SP

Till now, owning a Toyota in India meant shelling out more than Rs 8 lakh, that for the Innova. Howeve, with the Etios, even a typical middle class family can now dream of owning one of the most trustworthy and reliable brands in the world. To start with, its pricing alone makes it a very tempting buy. The Etios doesn’t really look beautiful or very modern from the outside but step inside and you are bound to be very impressed. The Etios certainly puts to shame almost all the sedans under the Rs 7 lakh bracket in the Indian market. Quality of interiors is decent, if not good and the overall design and layout thoughtful. A lot of importance has been given to space and cubby holes for knick-knacks, bottles and cups. The glovebox for example is huge and chilled. Comfort is good and the suspension set-up has been tuned more for comfort and good feel over bad roads.
The Etios is currently offered with only a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 90PS of power on tap that helps to give it class leading performance. The engine is powerful and performs very well and infact is best in class when it comes to low engine speed response as well as outright acceleration. The only flaw with the motor is its roughness at high engine speeds. The Etios is offered in five different trim levels with the base version being the best bet for taxi operators. The top end version also comes with optional alloy wheels and sporty body kit for enhanced looks. A diesel engine for the Etios is now on sale and has increased the demand for the car a lot.

Pros: Space, comfort, efficient engines
Cons: Subjective looks, questionable quality of interiors

Pros good look , less noise , good breaking system

Cons interior , power windows , music system , alloy wheels on rear

while driving for an average kilometer per hour with 90 kmph where it was running excellent , but if it starts from 100 kmph to 150 and more it is vibrating and body is not much safe ...
