Motors India is looking at selling 1,000 units of Chevrolet Captiva
by end of this year, its top official said. "The total domestic
SUV market as on today is 7,000 units. We are looking at selling
1,000 units of Chevrolet Captiva by end of 2008, taking the SUV
market to 8,000 units", Karl Slym told reporters on the
sidelines of the launch of Chevrolet Captiva premium Sport Utility
Vehicle here today. The SUV market is likely to go up
to 25,000 units by 2012, he said.
"GM India achieved an overall sales turnover of 60,000 units
in 2007 as against 35,000 units in 2006, registering a growth of 68
per cent when the industry growth stood at 14 per cent. We are eyeing
a turnover of 90,000 units by end of this calendar year", Slym
said.
