We test ride the Impulse.

Not all motorcycles are meant to be on the tarmac; there are very few bikes, which claims their territory off the road and we reviewed such a bike in its home conditions! Hero Moto launched Impulse after the end of their tie-up with Honda and branded the bike as first ’Trans-Roader’ of India.
It is tough to design a bike, which can do well on roads and even better off the tarmac. Hero Moto tried its best to justify the tag with which the company is selling it and succeeded in loading the bike with characteristics of both. The differently looking bike can turns head for sure with long forks, mono shocks, handle guard and under seat exhaust being the main attractions of the bike. In city the peppy engine and the short turning radius helps getting the past the slow moving traffic. The 13bhp of power and 13.4Nm of torque is distributed along the mid and top range and the 5-speed gearbox helps keeping the engine relaxed. Only reason I will not ride the bike in city will be the very uncomfortable saddle.

Take it off the tarmac and you will get to know its real character, even two full-grown adults the bike comfortably flies over any kind of surface that is offered to her. The soft suspensions come into play and you start to love riding on such surfaces. The on/off road spec tyres of CEAT sticks to the surface and offers ample grip in tricky situations. Take her for a jump or do a wheelie, the short gear ratio suddenly feels good and while pushing hard on such conditions; the fifth gear rarely comes into play.

The detailed review will be coming shortly for you guys, till then keep enjoying the pictures on our Facebook Fan page and have a good weekend!
