Volkswagen India is looking for ways to improve their sales and to do so, the car maker is planning to introduce a CNG variant among their present line-up of cars. The German car maker has an array of products in their India portfolio including the smallest Polo to the Passat and premium SUV Touareg and Phaeton limousine. The company has also updated their models time and again but still, the car maker isn’t actually satisfied with the sales performance.
Now, VW hopes to boost sales with the introduction of CNG models. On the after-sales and service front, VW aims to improve the overall customer experience. The group has been recording sales numbers in the 7000 units range on a regular basis but has failed to improve on it for some time now.
“We need to find answers as our sales are not up to industry benchmarks such as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. We have to sit back and see how we are doing qualitative things like customer interaction and after-sales,” accepted Neeraj Garg, director- passenger cars, Volkswagen group. He however dismissed any plans of lowering the prices of their cars. That said, VW is offering freebies on the petrol models of the Polo and the Vento.
