Tata Motors is going to start the assembly of Land Rover Freelander 2 at the Chikhli facility in Maharashtra from November this year. The Chikhli facility was earlier used by Mercedes Benz. Freelander 2 will be the first car from the stable of Jaguar and Land Rover to be assembled in India.
As of now Tata Motors is carrying out maintenance work the Chikhli facility for preparing it for the assembling of Freelander 2. The plant has capacity to produce 3,500 units in single shift. The prices of JLR Freelander 2 are going to be reduced with the local assembling.
