Suzuki Cervo to replace good-old Maruti 800?
The Suzuki Cervo which comes to life as the Kei in Japan is expected to replace our good-old friend- Maruti 800 in India. There have been numerous speculative reports about the car that could become the next people’s car. The Maruti 800 has been a phenomenon of the Indian auto industry and finding a replacement for this iconic car is easier said than done. We are more than excited to know more about the Maruti 800 replacement, but from the reports that have been circulating in the media, predicting a clear future is becoming all the more difficult.
That said, the M800 has seen the best of days and it’s about time it gave way to its successor. The Cervo though, doesn’t seem to fit the bill. If the car scooped earlier in the year is the M800 replacement, then it surely isn’t the Cervo. It did look more like the Alto with its low overall height. Under the hood could be a revised 800 cc engine with all the modern tit-bits required to pass the new global emission regulations. Finally, the car will certainly be highly economical with a low cost of ownership as an added bonus.
