Skoda India launches Fabia Scout at Rs.6.79 lakh ex-showroom Delhi

Skoda launched a so-called off-road version of their Fabia hatchback. Dubbed the Fabia Scout, the car has been a part of the Czech brands European portfolio for quite a while. These cars are especially popular with young couples who love the outdoors yet don’t have the money to get themselves a proper off-roader. The Fabia Scout range in India starts at Rs 6.79 lakh ex-showroom Delhi while the top-end version comes with a hefty price tag of Rs 8.10 lakh!

At first, the price might hit you in the face, but it isn’t too long until you realize the kind of standard kit the Fabia Scout packs. Skoda has thrown-in a unique body-kit with revamped bumpers and roof-rails. The projector lamps housed in the headlight cluster give the car a more upmarket look. Inside, you get dual airbags as standard along with ABS, integrated stereo, leather seats and other sporty tit-bits.Coming to the engine, the Fabia Scout is powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol and diesel motors.

The MPI petrol chugs out 75 bhp while the turbo diesel also manages similar figures, although you do get 180 Nm of torque. This is a car that will be place above the Fabia hatchback and will cater to special customers who want a bit more from their Fabia. How well the market reacts to this product which basically is a feature-packed hatchback, only time will tell.
