Piaggio to launch Vespa on 26 April.

Piaggio unfolded their plans to enter India with Vespa scooters were unfolded at the Auto Expo 2012 held in Delhi earlier this year. The fourth largest producer of scooters and motorcycles in the world, Piaggio will officially launch their scooters on 26th April following which the Italian manufacturer is will inaugurate their Vespa plant at Bramati.

The company based in Pontedera, Italy owns seven brands of scooters, motorcycles and compact commercial vehicles. Piaggio already has some presence in the country with compact commercial vehicles but this will be the first instance when they will come up with two-wheelers range.
Piaggio will initially come up with Vespa LX125 scooter and 50 to support the sales there will be 50 dealers all over India.
The Vespa LX was displayed in seven attractive gloss colors; red, silver, yellow, orange, blue, black and white. Powered by 124cc single cylinder 10.26 bhp@8250rpm and 9.6Nm of maximum torque with CVT transmission. The scooter will be launched in premium category with a price tag of Rs. 65,000/-.
