New Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV breaks cover ahead of NY Auto Show

The next-gen Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is set to make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show. The SUV’s first images are already out, though. Keeping-up with traditions of the design depatment at Mercedes-Benz, the 2013 GL-Class features design details that we’ve already seen on cars launched earlier in the year. The new grille and the headlights are the parts that dominate the front. The GL-Class’ design has always been imposing and the new model isn’t any different.

The boomerang-shaped daytime running lights have become the corporate signature of the Mercedes-Benz brand these days. The engine options on the new GL-Class are expected to be the same as the current one. Also, a hotter AMG version too could be in the pipeline. In India, we have the GL 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY only. The SUV is powered by a V6 oil burner that churns out a 224 bhp and a maximum torque of 510 Nm. The GL-Class comes with all-wheel drive and Mercedes’ 4MATIC automatic transmission.
