Mercedes launches Actros truck in India

German automaker Mercedes-Benz, known in India mostly for its luxury cars, has launched new versions of its Actros truck. Interestingly, the company is not very well known for its buses and trucks in the Indian market.

Mercedes is optimistic about Actros and thinks that the truck will be useful for the Indian mining and infrastructure operators. According to Wilfried Aulbur, Chief Executive Officer & MD, Mercedes-Benz India, “The new Mercedes-Benz Actros will be a valuable partner for the vibrant Indian mining and infrastructure operators and we have high expectations from this product in India.”

Actros is priced at Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). Introduced in in the mid-nineties, the truck is sold in over a hundred countries.
