Mahindra launches the Centuro priced at Rs. 45,000
Mahindra recently pushed the Pantero into the Indian market and now it is the time for more premium Centuro. Sharing the same 106.7cc MCi-5 engine with the Pantero, which develops 8.5PS@7500rpm and 8.5Nm@5500rpm, the USP of the Centuro would be the long equipment list it has. The engine has been mated with the smooth 4-speed gearbox, which has been carefully designed to spread the power over the whole spectrum. The bike looks solid with arching golden engine beams covering the engine.
The Centuro will sell itself because of the features it has been equipped with. It starts with the Anti-Theft System which has some high-tech engineering to lock the engine down and and sound an alarm in an event of mishandling of its locking system. It comes with first in class wireless remote, which enables it to add many unique features like the find me lamps, which helps in locating the bike in crowded place more conveniently. The wireless key also has a LED torch attached to it. There is Guide Home feature which will enable the headlamps to glow even after the ignition is turned off. There is nice digital console which has three pods and displays different information with service reminder.
With the launch of Centuro priced at Rs. 45,000 ex-showroom Delhi, it will be great competition to likes of Bajaj Discover, Honda Dream Yuga et cetra. First 10,000 customers will receive a discount of Rs 1000 on the ex-showroom price. Mahindra Centuro will be Mahindra’s pass into wider spectrum of Indian motorcycle scenario. We still remember the time when Mahindra unveiled the 300cc Mojo, Mahindra is inching slowly towards a better stable and we hope that Indian company soon gets into the big league on the lines of Bajaj, Hero and the likes.
