Hyundai Veloster – we want this beauty here in India!

Hyundai’s Auto Expo presence is always huge and gleaming with great products – this year, our eyes were set on the Veloster 3-door offering. It carries on the Fluidic design philosophy in the best possible manner and needless to say, looks sexy and hot! This is one Korean offering that easily shows the world that products coming from this part of the world are not always about practicality and sober looks.

Infact, when we shared a few pictures of the Veloster on our Facebook profile, the album generated close to 1200 ‘likes’ – beat that! The Veloster comes powered with a new generation 1.6-lite Gamma engine (petrol) mated to a manual gearbox. If wishes were horses, we would love to have the re-tuned version of the same 1.6-litre diesel found in the Verna. Ofcourse, having a product like the Veloster in India doesnt mean setting up a manufacturing unit (due to the low sales) but importing one as a CBU. Even if Hyundai does it that way, it can still be priced in the Rs 15-20 lakh category – a fully loaded smokin’ hot coupe like offering in this price band would surely start a new segment. What say guys?
