For all those waiting for HMSI (Honda motorcycle and scooter India) vehicles, the wait is now over. HMSI is all set to lay down the foundation stone of its new plant on 1st of June 2011 in Tapukara Rajsthan, bringing a great relief for all those who are waiting in the booking line as long as six months for two wheelers like – Activa, Dio, CB Unicorn etc.
The new plant in Tapukara would stretch up to an area of 240,000 square meters, consuming an amount of 500 million in its making. The plant is supposedly hiring a manpower of 3000 people in it. The new plant is the answer to HMSI for its demand supply problem in the market, its said to go in full operation by the second half of 2011. The company is further planning to expand its production level from 1.25 million to 1.55 million in the coming fiscal year and hence would boost up the total production to 2.2 million in order to meet its escalated demand, which as per the company reports is expected to jump up by 20% this year as compared to 2009-10.
Mr. Shinji Aoyama (CEO, President – HMSI) further added that the new plant would help them improve the production level, cause HMSI plans to export 1.15 lakh units as compared to 80,000 units it sold last year. HMSI sold 1.27 million units last year out of which 5.2 lakh were – motorcycles, and 7.5 lkaj were – scooters. The
estimated hike is suppose to surpass the figures last year and hence setting up a new plant would greatly solve the company’s purpose and customers demand by 2012.
