Harley –Davidson upcoming 500cc bike caught in pictures
The motorcycle giant’s Chief, Mr. Levatich, confirmed the upcoming 500cc cruiser from Harley-Davidson stable. As the machine will be built from the ground up at Harley Davidson‘s plant in Bawal, Haryana, a cruiser bike on test was caught around the region, which we think could be the upcoming bike. The 500 cc cruiser motorcycle will be powered by a V-Twin, which is standard across all Harley motorcycles and possibly the relatively small capacity machine will also get the liquid-cooling technology.
The new 500cc Harley will be built in India but will be sold world-over to many emerging markets. Harley-Davidson could harness the local source and put the same to their advantage to cut the cost greatly. In an statement, Harley-Davidson chief said the quality of the bike rolling out of the Indian plant, which is only the second mother plant after USA, will be same as the current Harley models and great care would be taken to keep the built quality top notch. Harley could source all the smaller displacement bike to be made in India as that will prove very cost-effective for the company.
We do expect other made-in-India models after the 500cc machine. India as an emerging market is proving to be a good breeding ground for international manufacturers and Harley with its heritage and brand, could prove to be one of the best-selling premium bikes in India.
