Ford Sales for the India market were announced that the company’s overall sales for the month of August increased by 16% year by year to a figure of 10,352 domestic wholesales and export units. This including their 200,000th unit of Figo. Company’s sales momentum built heading into the festive season. In August Ford India hit this mark of selling its 200,000th Figo, celebration of which seen throughout the country as dealers offered multiple and attractive benefits to new customers for the best-selling car. Ford’s Figo is success can also be proven by the fact that it is exported to 35 international markets.
Ford India’s exports have risen by 18 percent this year, with 16,847 units shipped since January. Ford India sold over 7,840 wholesale units in the domestic market in August which is an increase of 6% year over year. They sold 7,382 vehicles in August 2011.
Ford India is confidently expecting a tremendous boost in sales in the approaching festive season. Festive season is approaching in October and Ford is also planning to come up with their new schemes and benefits to attract more customers for their best seller. The company received a positive response to their extensive marketing campaign during Onam in Kerala.
Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India, expressed his happiness on this account he said, “It’s wonderful to see consumer sentiment improving as we approach the festive season, and we are confident we are ready to meet the growing demand for cars during this period”. He also added, “While market conditions have been challenging in recent months because of rising petrol prices, high inflation and rising interest rates, Ford remains focused on delivering its One Ford plan to produce fuel-efficient, safe, and fun to drive vehicles which customers want and need,”.
Ford is currently the 6th largest auto maker in the country. The company is working hard make a better stand in the market.
