Ferrari online auction to raise funds for Italy earthquake victims

Italian supercar maker is to auction the uber-quick Ferrari 599XX Evo at an auction to raise funds for the families of the victims of the earthquake that struck the Emilia Romagna region. As we all know, the 599XX Evo is a hardcore, track-focused version of the standard 599 GT car. Although, the car isn’t road legal, it has been a part of Ferrari’s unique program where customer buy the car and get to race around world famous racetracks.

The 599XX Evo is expected to fetch over 1.35 million euros. That said, this isn’t the only collectible on offer at the auction. Ferrari will also auction off a Formula 1 V8 engine from the 2008 season which won Scuderia Ferrari their 16th world constructors’ title. Among other exclusive stuff on offer, buyers will be able to bid for racing suits, gloves and helmets autographed by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. An original nose cone from the F60 F1 car will also be auctioned and so would be Giancarlo Fisichella’s F1 racing suit.
