Ducati launches Diavel model in India

Sports bike maker Ducati has launched its model Diavel in India. With the starting price of Rs. 17 lakh, the bike was launched at the Bangalore showroom of the company. The bike is available in 3 versions. The base version is sold at the ex-showroom price of Rs 17.06 lakh, the Carbon variant is sold at Rs 22.06 lakh and the top end version Carbon Red can be purchased at the price of Rs 22.43 lakh.

Powered by a 1200 cc engine and weighing 204 kg, Diavel has been powered by features like ABS, LED headlights and traction control. The bike has been powered by a 1198.4cc, four-stroke, L-twin Ducati Testastretta engine. It delivers power of 162bhp at 9500rpm and 13kgm of torque at 8000rpm.

Ducati is expecting to double its India sales to around 200 units in the next one year. “The Diavel is, without any doubt, the most exciting innovation in the Ducati 2011 line because it represents a new concept of motorcycle. It is a naked bike because it is essential, light and agile; a cruiser because it is imposing and also comfortable with a passenger; and a sports bike because it has a powerful heart, muscles, and levels of performance that take your breath away,” said Mirko Bordiga, CEO, Ducati Asia Pacific.
