Pedal Power Foundation is organizing the 3rd edition of a community cycle rally in Pune on 3rd June, 2012, to celebrate World Environment Day (WED) in response to the call given by United Nations Environment program (UNEP).
Community Cycle Rally in Pune
Pune was once called “Cycle City” of India. Pedal Power Foundation have planned to promote cycle at the first choice of mobility for short distance and to make Pune a cycle-friendly city. However, the city have 126 kilometers of cycle tracks and Pune has a strong chance to initiate sustainable urban mobility policies and plans for the rest of India to follow.
The community ensure that the city should be pollution free, by organizing such events they aim to create green tomorrow, encourage cycle mobility and reduce traffic congestion.
