GM India to source technology of Reva for electric Spark

General Motors India is in talks with India-based leading electric car maker Reva Electric Car Company for rolling out electric variants of its small car Chevrolet Spark . GM India is trying to source the eco-friendly technology from Reva. GM may also have a joint Venture with Reva to come up with an electric model of Chevrolet Spark for the overseas market.

GM India has been following up on the chances for commercial application of alternative fuel options , including bio-diesel , jatropha arrangement with Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute , electric , fuel cell , hydrogen etc , with many parties for quite some time , according to P Balendran , Vice President , Corporate Affairs , GM India. GM India is waiting for approval of its parent company General Motors for the joint venture with Reva.
