Fiat India , the car producer said that it will place its hatchback Grande Punto. Adding , in June 17 the Grande Punto will be released in both petrol and diesel variants , in the upper side of the petite car section.
With the Maruti Suzuki's Ritz , Hyundai's i20 , Skoda's Fabia and to be released Honda Siel's Jazz , the Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) has decided to place the car in the premium hatchback segment. Further it is having an equal business between Italy-based Fiat SpA and domestic auto foremost Tata Motors , said the sources from the company.
Initially Grande Punto was released in Europe in the year 2005 and the company has not divulged the price of the car.
Further it added that Grande Punto will get introduced from the company's state-of-the-art plant at Ranjangaon (in Maharashtra) and it also produces Fiat’s Linea and Palio. By the close of year 2009 the localization content of workings of the car would be improved to 85%.
Moreover the company is operating to make that the car is support through a strong Tata-Fiat dealer network including 100 of sales and service channels by the release period. Adding , authoritative agreement was signed in the year 2007 and initially it was incorporated in the year 1997.
Fiat India Automobiles Ltd has its built-up facility in Ranjangaon with a production capability of two lakh cars and three engines in a year. Furthermore from the same plant it will be producing Palio Stile and Linea as well.
