Brief drive on Tata Indica Vista

Tata Motors launched the new model of its successful brand Indica , 'Indica Vista' . Since the parent model Indica's launch the company has produced 9.1 lakh units. Indica Vista is launched in seven variants and priced at Rs 3.49 lakh ex-showroom Delhi for 1.2 L petrol at the low end up to Rs 4.88 lakh for the top end.

Before we go for an ultimate and exclusive test drive for a car , we are blessed to made a brief test drive on Indica Vista at the time of launch.First time when you are looking car you might observe that the Tata had kept the same style as the parent model but at the close look you can feel the smart work done by the Tata engineers.

The smile honeycomb grille is bounded swaparound petal shaped headlamps which is nicely placed on the lines of the bonnet. The headlamps has a small budge at the centre and a slight central mid ridge on the bonnet is intended to give a V-shaped front.Open the bonnet you could again see the Fiat’s popular 1.3L multi jet engine which is coined as quadrajet. The c510 gearbox is also sourced from Fiat. But when the indica’s comfort and convenience combines with Fiat’s technology it could be the match winner against the likes of Swift and i10.

We are told that the mileage of thecar in city is around 16kmpl and in highway it goes up to 20kmpl. The car remains solid even at 140 kmph high speeds. But the tilt adjustable and three spoke steering fails to gain weight proportional to the speed.Another letdown is the absence of ABS and Airbags in the new generation car.

While the Indica v2 offered a raw space , the space is intelligently used in the new Indica. A glove box that can hold even a laptop , under deck space to hold water bottles , cubbyholes , wide door pockets and 60:40 foldable rear seats can give you the most comfortable journey. The driver seat is height adjustable. Indica vista earns good applauses with its ride quality , comfort and convenience on its first sight.But this is our initial opinion , wait for little time to dig out more about the car.
