India not affected by Hyundai recall of Sonata cars

Auto maker Hyundai has announced recall of over 47 , 000 units of sedan Sonata due to a door lock problem from South Korea as well as United States. However , India will not get affected from the recall.

"Since the launch of the Sonata in Korea last September , Hyundai Motor discovered a mechanical problem with its front door latches which , in very rare instances , will not close properly , " Hyundai said in a press statement. "This will not impact the sales of Sonata in India ...as in India (only) the Sonata Transform is sold , " said an the official of Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
