Bajaj recalls Pulsar 220 to fix starter relay

Auto giant Bajaj Auto limited had recalled its flagship motorcycle, the Pulsar 220 DTS-i to replace the starter relay. The company’s dealers reported a problem with the starter relay on the Pulsar 220 that has prompted Bajaj  to go in for the part replacement.
The recall includes free replacement of the electronic part which takes only 15-20minutes.

“At Bajaj Auto, quality improvement is an ongoing process as we recognize that no product, however good, is ever perfect. Towards this purpose we continuously monitor the in-use quality of our products well beyond their two-year warranty period… Recently, a non-conformance in the starter motor relays of some of our motorcycles has come to our notice.” said K Srinivas, Bajaj Auto’s two wheeler unit president.

Not all units are being recalled by Bajaj. The owner’s of the bikes whose parts are believed to be carrying the problem are being contacted through SMS service.
