Audi sales up by 14% in June

Auto maker Audi has seen its sales grow by 14% in the month of June this year. The company sold 233 cars in the month compared to 204 units sold in the same month in 2009. The luxury car maker has also posted 71% growth at 1,400 units from January to June this year. It is the best ever half-yearly sales performance by the company.

“An uptrend in demand has forced us to revise our 2010 targets by more than 25%,” said Michael Perschke, head of Audi India. Audi had sold 1,658 vehicles last year. Now the company is aiming to sell 2,700 vehicles in 2010. The company also has plans to increase the production capacity in India to 6,000 vehicles a year by 2015. The company also has plans to invest 30 million euros in India by 2015. The money will be spend on technology and product upgradation.
