Audi India today reached a milestone by registering 500 bookings for the new Audi Q3. They achieved this figure in just 5 days of the SUV’s launch. Meanwhile, cars have been made available at Audi dealerships across India where customers can test drive the vehicles. Deliveries of the Audi Q3 will commence soon while, next batch of bookings will open by the end of June 2012.

For the Audi Q3, the German car maker has employed an all new marketing strategy with more emphasis given to social media and the internet. Their slogan ‘Start Young’ further emphasizes the fact that the car is meant of the young individual. Another marketing venture calls upon the youth to make music videos for the Audi Q3 starring themselves. Audi has also launched web channels upon which fans can upload content and browse through more original content from Audi.
The response to the Audi Q3 has been overwhelming and Audi is confident to live up to their promise. The base price of the Audi Q3 has been set at Rs 26.2 lakh ex-showroom Maharashtra for the base variant. That said, the current bookings only include the top-end variant which costs Rs 31.49 lakh. Audi has plans to shift to CKD production in the months to come, however the Q7 will be the first of the off-roaders that will be available as CKDs.
When asked about the A3 sedan, Michael Perschke said, that they are considering the A3 sedan for India, but it will take some time until the car finally arrives. That said, 2014 is when the A3 sedan could be launched. Finally, Audi’s new strategy for the Q3 certainly seems to be working. The company is currently placed second in the luxury car segment in India. They wish to take charge of the proceedings soon, but at the same time they would like to sustain their momentum going forward.
