The production version of Yamaha R25 will be powered by 249cc in parallel twin configuration with liquid cooling, fuel injected engine and will be mated to a six speed manual transmission. The engine is expected to have a peak power output of 35 bhp. Also 2014 R25 sports a new chassis that is a tubular one unlike the R15 which has a perimeter frame. Also it will have conventional front forks and rear mono-shock absorber. The brakes calipers in the R25 are non radial and it will sport a single-disc upfront and rear.

Yamaha is preparing to launch its next bike in the Indian market, the XT1200Z Super Tenere. The Adventure tourer is said one of the finest machines from Yamaha and shares their racing heritage from the Dakar rally bikes. The XT1200Z should be here by the end of 2013 and will be competing against the likes of BMW R1200GS and Triumph Tiger 800XC.
