Tata Nano Diesel
The much debated 1Lakh rupee car came into existence at pretty much the promised price by Ratan Tata, well almost! Launched in the first quarter of 2009, the Nano was touted to be the quintessential Maruti 800 killer. The sales however reflect a very different story. Prior to the launch, much was said and argued about the car as to whether it may turn out to be a hassle in the already congested roads of our country, but none of that happened. Infact the Nano is yet a seldom sight on the streets.
However now, Tata is back with a significant change to the Nano, its heart. The Nano will soon be made available with a diesel engine option. In a recent news Garrett Turbochargers’ website showed one of their products meant for the upcoming Tata Nano Diesel which revealed the specs. The same turbocharger developed by Garrett- a branch of Honeywell Global will be used in the new Tata Ace. The specification sheet mentions the engine that this turbine will form a part of. The 800 cc common-rail diesel engine is expected to produce 40 PS of peak power @ 4000 rpm thanks to the turbine. The 0.8 litre DICOR engine features a twin-cylinder setup in 90 degree L configuration.

tata nano is an almost perfect car for india, particularly its dimensions and design is great for congested indian

I have been using a Tata Nano 2012 & am very happy with the car. I have also seen the diesel Nano being tested on
