The Tata Nano has been a car that has hogged the limelight for all sorts of reasons ever since its launch or even before it! After its much awaited launch the Nano has done well but Tata Motors knew that it can do a lot better and thus the new improved Nano is here and it will take the centre-stage now. The new Nano has a series of subtle improvements. The styling changes are done to make it more premium and attractive than before. The bumper which is re-designed has vents for cooling the engine. The new Nano has two colour options royal gold and dazzle blue. The new colours look cool and will go a long way to help improve its appearance. Though the basic styling theme is the same and that need not be changed as it looks cute! Get inside and the bigger changes are visible and they are very important. The new Nano now gets a major upgrade inside where you can have the optional sporty black or get the usual beige though the beige does brighten up the cabin. The feature list includes remote keyless entry, twin gloveboxes, and a four-speaker AmphiStream music system with Bluetooth USB and Aux-in connectivity. For convenience a 12v socket has been added being placed ahead of the gearbox. When it comes to engine the 37 bhp petrol is there but the improvements include a lighter clutch and less heavy steering which will be a boon for many. This car performs well wing to its low weight and does well with its 0.6 liter 624cc two cylinder multi-point fuel injection petrol engine which is mated to a four speed manual gear box and produces a maximum power of 38 PS at 5250 RPM and maximum torque of 48 NM from 2500-3000 RPM. It has enough power to chug along on the highways at near triple digit speeds while the torque at low revs makes it easy to drive in the city. The 624 cc petrol engine now in the 2012 Nano has 38 PS and an increase of 3 PS over the earlier Nano which had 35 PS. The fuel economy is one of the high points of the Nano as you expect 25 kmpl which is a improvement and makes the Nano one of the most efficient cars around. There is no diesel version yet, though do expect one soon! Tata Nano offers good stability and speeds and the body roll is well controlled in this car and much improved .The NVH levels are well controlled and the car manages to retain its level of comfort for all onboard. Brakes have been worked upto too and the Nano sheds speeds pretty easily and emergency braking doesn’t result in any drama or nervous antics. Steering is slightly less heavy than before. For a detailed analysis read below

Pros: More features, Looks better, Excellent interior space, Excellent value for money, Easy to maintain, Excellent fuel efficiency, new paint schemes available
Cons: No power steering, No diesel, Std version is too basic, brakes, handling and refinement, build quality needs to be improved

Tata Nano Handling Braking & Safety

Tata Nano offers good stability and speeds and the body roll is well controlled in this car and much improved .The NVH levels are well controlled and the car manages to retain its level of comfort for all onboard. Brakes have been worked upto too and the Nano sheds speeds pretty easily and emergency braking doesn’t result in any drama or nervous antics. Steering is slightly less heavy than before.

What we like
Feels nippy around the city
What we don't like
Heavy steering is difficult for senior citizenswomen to drive

Tata Nano Comfort & Suspension

The Nano will mainly be used in city traffic and this is where its suspension does a decent job as well. Pot-holes are dismissed off pretty easily and until unless you decide to drive over bad undulations at high speeds, the Nano remains calm and composed.

What we like
Does well for a small car
What we don't like
High speed ride could be better
